This Mid-Century Modern Bassett nightstand underwent a full restoration beyond a previous quick fix. The earlier repair job had only masked deeper issues—scratches and missing mahogany veneer—under a thick, uneven stain. I carefully removed the damaged veneer and replaced it with new mahogany on every visible surface, then applied a warm golden-toned stain to bring out the grain’s natural beauty. The original brass handle was polished to restore its subtle shine, and the drawer interior was deep-cleaned using acid to lift old stains before sealing it with a protective lacquer coat. The result is a refreshed and durable piece that looks as sharp as the day it left the factory.
